Thanks so much you guys! aggro-core: Over the past weekend, my best friend, a 19 year old Muslim lesbian, was disowned by her family. She was kicked out of her house, off her health and car insurance, her cell phone cut off, her girlfriend and her girlfriend’s family were threatened by her family, and left with the clothes on her back and the money in her pocket.  Seeing as her father controlled all of her funds, she is literally penny-less. The $2000 stipend provided by our college, Smith College, (Northampton, MA) was taken by her father as well. She is currently filing as an independent and requesting financial aid so she can hopefully  remain in school next semester. Her family is moving to Dubai in the next two weeks and will be leaving her here in the US. Our friends are rallying to raise money to help her buy clothes, and she was added to a friends family plan for a phone. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help our friend get back on her feet. As a member of both the Muslim and LGBQT community, we are asking for anyone and everyone who can sympathize with our friend’s situation to donate whatever you can to the link above.
